1 year old!

                                                      6-29-2013 Happy 1st Birthday!!

It seems as if the birth of the twin was just a few weeks ago. I can't believe how much they have grown, not just their height and weight, but also lots of developmental milestone they have achieved. They are tiny tiny complete human being. Just amazes me how fast they learn new skills. I teach them something one day and they try to do it or can do it by themselves in a couple of days.

On their birthday, we couldn't take off from work so I baked cake-vegan- for them. That was their first time eating something THAT sweet!

CJA--

Allergy--This month, we confirmed Cja's milk allergy. What I didn't know was that she was also mildly allergic to Egg White. Something I fed her caused rash/ bumps all over her back. I note all the new food I introduce to the girls everyday, so I suspected the egg in their birthday cake caused it. For a while I used only egg yolk for their cooking. Later the allergy was confirmed. No milk products and no egg white for her for a while.

Growth spur-- Cja went through growth spurt this month. When she eats like horse at every meal and many screaming night (growing pain?), I notice this is happening. Later on, sure enough she looks taller and face looks fuller.

Walking--She was the long time scooter and sitter when Kaci was up crawling and walking. This month, Cja has accomplished both at the same time.

Kaci--

Walking -- She has been walking about 2 months now. Not running quite yet. She used the walker toy very little but rather used anything and everything around the house to push around. --video

Emotional development-- She has started to understand the concept of  good, bad,  what she can get away with and what she needs to cry for.  She understands us a lot more than Cja these days. Her thing this month was "act of crying".  Especially when daddy is around, she cries to be picked up extending her hands out. He walks away then she stops crying, gets up and go like nothing happened. Then daddy reappears. Then the act starts again. But surely she gets her way at the end.

10 MONTH OLD

HOORAY! Time flies. Because I am sooo behind on my blog, I FORGOT many of what I wanted to write on this post. So I will just paste bunch of pictures.. hahaha
Since 9 month old, communication with the girls has been much fun. Their personality have been blooming! Can these twin girls be more different!? OH they are just opposite when it comes to everything! Twins are a lot of work I admit, but thankfully and interestingly, they take turn to be fussy, be sick, and be restless at night. I am still here today happily sane because they balance me taking turn being needy everyday!
This month, my mom came back from Japan ( went home for 6 weeks). So the gals don't need to go daycare full time anymore, though I liked that they got lots of interactions with other people and lots of activities there, and that they didn't get sick every other day anymore, and that they had a routine going.  I can't really afford full time daycare for two month after month so the gals will go daycare twice a week, back to part-time.

Cja ---
 *Weight-18lb.
*Food - Cooking for her is a bit tricky. Since she seems to be allergic to dairy, I have started to use coconut milk and dairy free butter for cooking. I am 100% hands on when it comes to their cooking. I have not given jar food since birth. Buying dairy free products or its taste are new area to me. I am always on Internet searching for yummy recipe for her. She is still on 100% breast milk in a bottle.
*Clothes - 12 month and #3 diaper
*Teething -- no new development this month
*Activities -- She has come around a lot. Now she scoots around and doesn't just sit at one place any more. She still have trouble crawling as she doesn't get the concept of " one knee forward after the other" part. It's funny she does great on walker though! Many times she runs over crawling Kaci since Kaci does not like to be in walker much.

More pictures of Cja
This is when she had eye infection. Had lots of eye buggies

Just came back from Daycare. Teachers did my pigtail hair for me

I am still so small, I can be put away!

First staycation at local hotel. Cja was the perfect behaving baby this day

Ooops!

Im a Nacar Driver in making!

Kaci --

*Weight - 17lb 4oz
*Teething - upper teeth coming in! One of the two is taking forever to grow in. Her two front teeth has a gap and look so cute!
*Food - Anything and Everything! She eats a lot. We call her 'the bottomless pit'. As much as we give her food, she will keep eating, but yet she is 1lb smaller than Cja. Where all the food go??
She is also 100% on breast milk in bottles still.
*Activities - She wants to walk so bad. One day we bought a toy for assisting her walk. She got the hold of it and started walking!!

9 MONTH OLD!

9 month old. This month was a whole another world from 8th month. In 8th month, nothing went easy on all of us, I mean for both girls, me and husband. Sleepless nights for all 4, fussy babies, fever, cold, viral infection etc. After turning 9 month old, it seems as if we have found the sunshine! Also, I feel as if I have more connection with babies, as far as communication level goes!

My mom who were baby-sitting since they were 2 month old went back to Japan for 6 weeks. She had some health problems while she was here, so her 6 weeks vacation was spent mainly for doctor's visit.
Since she has been gone, the gals are in daycare full time and they just  LOVE the place and teachers! Costing fortune for mommy and daddy but there is something money can't replace... their happiness and much experiences they gain from the daycare. Interacting with other babies and teachers must be doing some good to the gals. The daycare does lots of activities and teachers just love my girls! When my mother returns, I think I will keep them there part time.  Much fun for the girls and less work for my mom :-)

CJA--

*weight -- 17lb 4oz  25th %ile. She wears 12months clothes, #2 diaper.  Her height is 50%ile..
She has slimmed down a lot compared to earlier months,, look at the difference in pictures!

*foods --  She has 22-28oz milk everyday and eats solids 3x a day. She has good appetite, but picky eater. If she doesn't like something, she will seal her lips so tight that nothing more will get in.  It seem she might be allergic or just simply has sensitive skin to dairy. So far I've fed yogurt and cottage cheese as for the dairy products. When she had yogurt, all around her mouth where yogurt touched got red.  When she had cottage cheese, she started to scratch her face a lot and had a couple spots that "looked like" hives. All went away after an hour or so, but for now, I will refrain from the dairy for Cja.
*developmental milestone -- crawling?  not quite yet. She can sit up all by her self. She scoots around with her butt and can do circle.  She is not all that fan of tummy time so she doesn't get to spend a lot of time strengthening her core in that way.  When I hold her to assist standing up, she still is on a tippy toe. Especially she woudn't put her bare weight on her right foot. I think it will be a while till she gets more mobile :-)
On her walker, she is the speedy gonzales, though she uses both legs at the same time to push herself to go forward, backward, turn corner etc.. She can maneuver around the house with this thing!
She goes faster than Kaci on her walker.
*Teething -- She has 2 bottom and 4 upper teeth now.  She had a break this month from all that teething pain.

KACI--

*Weight --15lb 14oz, she wears 9 month old clothes and #2 diaper. She is very small so diapers are buggy.
*Foods--She eats everything, including dairy foods! Got really good appetite and eats more than Cja. She has been showing me signs that she is ready for finger food.
*developmental milestone --She has mastered the crawling! She is just all over the place now. It is the fastest way to move around. She loves us laying on the floor because we become jungle gym for her! She can hold herself standing up for prolong time and can get herself up or down. Her body flexes so much, makes me think does she have bones??? Her tiny body can do so much!
*Teething--She got the bottom 2 tooth. I have noticed every time teeth erupts, she loses her appetite for a day or two, but she gets extra sleepy head.
*Personality--She got the personality of momma, who wants attention all the time! She is constantly giving herself a challenge and try new things. That's why she is so fast on starting to crawling, standing etc. She is such a daddy girl. Every time she is with me, she behaves and doesn't give me much hard time. But as soon as she sees daddy around, she starts to get winy and tries to get him to come to her.  The result? Yes daddy ends up holding her and she gets exclusive attention! She is smart :-)

Time to baby proof the house? Yes, definitely. They love roaming around in the kitchen, especially with spatula and whisk in their hands!

7 month old!

I am writing this looking back the days of 7 month. They look chunkier compared to now. From the morning till night they sure keep me busy, non stop! Everyday is a survival game but these smile just make me forget all the hardship at times. I will do anything to keep them smiling!

Cja
in a walker, just "in" it.

good time with mommy, playing with camera

how do i look with new hat!?

*weight-- 16lb +
*clothes -- 9month clothes and #2 diaper
*Teething.. This month is all about her top front teeth. Total of 3 broke through, in addition to the bottom two she has already. Upper teeth seemed to be quite painful that we gave tylanol and orajel to ease the pain at times.  The upper 4th one gave her the hardest time, she was crying like no tomorrow one night.
*Food -- all 4-6month food clear! She is still exploring 6-8month food, continuing onto chicken, turkey, yogurt, maybe tofu if her tummy can take it. She did not like applesauce. Maybe I will have her try some other time !
*I taught her 'mama'. She answered "dada". She speaks her own language right now.

Kaci
sat up for the first time by herself!

Kaci won't let mommy eat her lunch!

hi baby!
*weight -- 14lb 4oz
*clothes-- 6 month clothes and #2 diaper. Kaci ends up with Cja's hand-me-down a lot... Sorry Kaci!
*Teething.. nothing yet!
*Fever-- had it twice this month. Her immune system is still up and down, not quite stable. She had on going low grade fever for a few days at times, but her activity level was just fine. One night her fever was 102, warm bath and Motrin helped that night.
*Activity-- In walker, Kaci kicks the floor with both feet together, going backwards. (7.5m)   Sits up by herself and scoots around.
*food -- Kaci so far dives into many food, including apple sauce Cja does not like... She sure has more appetite than Cja.
kaci is a lot more vocal. Now says "bwah bwah bwah",, which was what Cja was saying last month.
Kaci flips her head side to side like she is saying NO!

A video clip from this month :-)

Me,at 7.5 months, start really weaning process. 4-5x a day to pump. and reduce the length of pumping session each time.  now supply and demand is breakeven.

Thank you for keeping up with Kaci and Cja's fast growth! Next up is 9 month blog post!
